J1 Visa Participants Volunteer at the New York Marathon!

AuPairCare had over 85 au pairs and team members sign up to volunteer at the NYC Marathon on November 1st!

They were mainly based at Miles 18 and 19 and helped set up fluid stations at these mile markers. They handed water and Gatorade to marathon runners, motivating them to keep going and cheering them on for their tremendous efforts. Many runners displayed patriotic gear from their home countries and au pairs enjoyed giving words of encouragement in their native language to their country mates.

Leticia, an au pair from France, said, 'I love the marathon!'
Michelle, an au pair from Brazil, said, 'I've never volunteered before and this experience was amazing. I will definitely volunteer again!'.

It was a great cultural exchange experience for au pairs to participate in the country's biggest marathon event!
