AuPairCare staff and participants celebrated BridgeUSA’s Exchange Day all around the country to commemorate and celebrate the power of cultural exchange. AuPairCare Area Directors Ana, Leslie, and Katrina hosted a lively Exchange Day event on August 5, 2024 in Bedford, Texas that brought together au pairs, host families, and members of the local community. Taking place at their local library, the event featured different activities to help share and exchange the different languages & cultures represented within the group. Community participants were given "passports" to collect stickers from each country they "visited," making the experience both educational and fun!
The event gave au pairs the ability to connect with the community they live in while also raising awareness about the positive impact of international exchange programs like the au pair program.
Ignacio, an au pair from Spain, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I had a great time sharing my country with the community and also getting to know people from different countries." Host mom Herlinda also enjoyed the event, noting, "I had an amazing time with my children getting to know different nationalities. I’m excited to share my experience as a host mom with other families."
Exchange Day events like these serve as a reminder of the powerful impact that cultural exchange has in building a sense of understanding and unity. The event truly embodied the spirit of international exchange programs. Check out the recap of the full experience!
