They came to Bucks County from around the world, and now 15 au pairs will send gifts out around the world. The 15 women, from countries such as Colombia, Brazil, South Africa, and Poland, brought their donations and donations from their host families and au pair coordinators to pack in gift boxes Saturday night.
The 50 gifts from the event will go to Operation Christmas Child, the annual gift collection run by the Samaritan's Purse charity. 'These are going to children that have never seen a toy, mostly,' said Joanne Donohue, the coordinator for Bucks and Montgomery County Au Pair Care, who organized the event. Several of the women, most in their early 20s, met for the first time Saturday before they started packing the boxes. The gifts, varying from dolls to stuffed animals, feathers, and craft supplies, were packed in age-level boxes during a half-hour-long flurry of activity.
