St. Patrick's Day Recipes for Kids

Whether you’re Irish or not, Americans go above and beyond to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Everything seems to turn green and people fill the streets to dance and enjoy the parades. Bring the luck of the Irish into your home and make some delicious treats to celebrate one of America’s favorite days. Just make sure you’re wearing green to avoid some pinches!

Leprechaun Chow

What you’ll need:

• Lucky Charms
• Chex cereal
• 2 white chocolate bars
• Green sprinkles and sugar

What you’ll do:

• Mix the Lucky Charms and Chex together and spread in a foil-lined pan.
• Microwave the chocolate in intervals until melted.
• Pour the white chocolate over the cereal mixture and add sprinkles and sugar.
• Put in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets and then break into pieces. Enjoy!

Shamrock Shake Cupcakes

What you’ll need:

• 1 box of yellow cake mix
• Eggs
• Vegetable Oil
• Green food coloring
• White frosting
• Peppermint extract
• Chocolate mint Oreo thins

What you’ll do:

• Heat oven to 350°F
• Create cake mix and add in green food coloring for desired shade. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
• Mix frosting and peppermint extract in a bowl. Next put the frosting in a decorating bag and frost each cupcake.
• Top with mint Oreo thin pieces. Yum!

Leprechaun Hat S’mores

What you’ll need:

• Fudge stripe cookies
• Large marshmallows
• Chocolate and Green Candy Melts
• Sprinkles and Sparkles

What you’ll do:

• Melt the chocolate in the microwave in interviews. Repeat until melted. Then dip cookies into the melted chocolate and completely coat them.
• Place cookies on parchment paper. Use a toothpick to dip marshmallow into the chocolate and coat entirely.
• Flip the marshmallow and dip into green melted candy to create small green band. Then coat with green sparkles and sprinkles.
• Place marshmallow topper in the center of the cookie. Then use your melted green candy to decorate the hats with shamrocks and swirls. Dust with sparkles and sprinkles and allow to dry.
