1. Once school is officially out for summer, it's nice to have childcare already in place as opposed to just starting the search.
2. The value of having another set of hands on your family vacation is vastly underrated. (Imagine you and your partner having some vacation alone time while the kids are occupied!)
3. A Harvard study says kids lose about 2.6 months of math learning over the break. Other academic skills also experience a summer learning loss. You and your au pair can come up with strategies to curb such declines and keep kids enriched while outside of the classroom.
4. Your au pair can do fun activities with the kids (visits to the pool, music/dance/sports lessons, etc.) and you won't have to pay for expensive summer camps!
