AuPairCare provides our AuPairCare Academy training program that meets and exceeds the US Department of State requirements for the J-1 visa au pair program.
All participants are required to complete this mandatory training before the beginning of their au pair program and before they arrive in the U.S. to join their host family.
Our Academy team trains pre-departure au pairs through a series of self-paced online courses and live group classroom webinars. During these webinars, our highly-experienced instructors lead interactive lessons using scenarios and activities to ensure that au pairs are understanding and retaining information.
The Academy courses use a combination of text, videos, and quizzes throughout their courses to deliver an engaging learning experience.
Topics we cover include:
In addition to educating au pairs on child safety and child development, we also educate participants on the rules and regulations of the J-1 au pair program.
We also aim to provide au pairs with practical instruction while also providing valuable lessons in life skills that will benefit them outside of the program. Topics such as Life in the USA, dealing with culture shock and homesickness, time management, and dealing with challenges are discussed in detail.
Au pairs retain access to these courses throughout their program year to be used as a resource at any time.
In addition to our Academy, AuPairCare has two specialized training courses: All About Infants and All About Toddlers.
AuPairCare also offers a library of Advanced Online Training that provides additional education and support for au pairs.
