Take advantage of a free weekend or add it to your list during your travel month because Denver, Colorado is definitely a top place to visit during your au pair year! Nicknamed the “Mile High City”, Denver is home to plenty of adventure-filled activities, delicious food, and beautiful sites - just stay hydrated and watch out for the altitude.

When to visit:

Any time! Colorado is known for its unpredictable and ever changing weather, but there are plenty of benefits of visiting any time of the year. Whether you feel like hitting the slopes in the winter season, or enjoying a park picnic in the high heat of the summer, Colorado has plenty to keep you entertained.

Things to do/see:

Spend time with your au pair friends or host family in the Rocky Mountains. If it’s snow season, then grab your skis or snowboard and hit the slopes.

Explore downtown- Eat and shop your way through Union station, 16^th street mall, or the Rino District.

Attend a Red Rocks concert. Check out this geological wonder and enjoy some music in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater!
