Repeat Au Pair Program FAQs
Q: Can I match with my first au pair again?
A: We can attempt to match you with your original au pair, or you can choose to view the profiles of other experienced repeat au pairs.
Q: What if my original au pair is now older than 26, can she still come back on the Repeat Au Pair Program?
A: Unfortunately, the U.S. Department of State ruling only allows for young adults between the ages of 18 to 26 to become and au pair in the United States and this also applies to repeat au pairs.
Q: What is the benefit of choosing a repeat au pair?
A: Repeat au pairs are familiar with American culture so they know what cultural differences to expect. Additionally, repeat au pairs already have experience caring for children and have established themselves as reliable caregivers.
Q: I hosted my au pair through another au pair agency but would like to switch to AuPairCare, can my previous au pair participate in the Repeat Au Pair Program?
A: Yes, we accept repeat au pair applications from au pairs who previously traveled to the U.S. on another U.S. government approved au pair program as long as they completed their program successfully.
Q: My au pair just completed the one-year program and then extended for another nine months. Does she have to reapply?
A: Yes, all repeat au pairs have to go through an application process. Au pair candidates should fill out the Request More Information form to find AuPairCare's local Partner in their home country who can help them with the application.
Q: Does it cost more to participate in the Repeat Au Pair Program?
A: No, there is no additional cost to participate in this program. Please see the program costs page for the annual one-year and Infant Specialized au pair program fees.
Q: Can a repeat au pair extend for another 6, 9 or 12 months?
A: Yes.
