Au Pair Paulo, Brazil
Paulo is 26 and from Brazil. He graduated from University as an Accounting major and has previously worked in a library keeping neighborhood children occupied with learning activities. He is passionate about working with children and decided to become an au pair to combine working with children, learning about another culture and improving his English.
Paulo was matched with a family in Washington and looks after twin boys. His host family has experienced how male au pairs, like Paulo, can make wonderful role models and also play the part of an older brother to children! Paulo's love of sports makes him the perfect au pair for two 11 year-old twin boys. Together, Paulo and his family have extended his au pair program into a second year. Here is what Paulo has to say about his experience as an au pair.
"A lot of people think to be an au pair is just for girls, but guess what? they are completely wrong. We can do it, we do our job as good as the girls can do it. I left my country to improve my English, help with the kids, know a different culture and places. My English is really good now, I have traveled a lot here and I know a lot about American culture. Everything that I wanted I got. My host family are making these two years, the best years of my life."
