Au Pair Laure, France
Laure is 22 and from France. She is the oldest in her family and has been babysitting since she was 13. Her previous childcare experience exceeds 1300 hours. Laure was also an English tutor and loves having the opportunity to teach children. She applied to participate in AuPairCare's au pair program because it seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine her love of children and also improve her English.
Once Laure joined the AuPairCare au pair program our Matching Experts helped place her with a family in California. Here is a glimpse into her life as an au pair in her own words.
"I am taking care of a three year old girl, whom I felt in love with! We are having so much fun together! I even miss her on the weekend when I do not work! I am so impatient for Monday morning, to see her smiley face running toward me to say "good morning Laure!" It is so great to take care of this child... playing, laughing, running, climbing, drawing, singing, dancing, reading ... it is a funny job!
My host parents are also so nice with me. They make me discover their country, they helped me become integrated. I really like spending time with them too and we have a lot of fun together. They are like my second family.
Every single day I learn, and I am never bored. You learn a lot about yourself. Who you are, who you want to be, what are your goals, your hopes... I am now sure that this experience will be the greatest one of my life. Everybody should live that. One year is not long and even too short. I do not like thinking of my come back, it makes me sad!"
